Medical School Resources
Resources that I've used and liked. With focus on a) interactive learning and b) easy-to use templates.
Simulation and interactive learning for primary care
Medical simulation app including adult and pediatric emergency medicine cases. Great for learning to make decisions; in contrast to many interactive learning apps, Full Code allows the user to select from a broad standard set of interventions, common to each case, rather than offering a narrow range of multiple choice options. Shows patient response to interventions.
High quality cases with excellent explanations.
Growing repository of cases across many disciplines. Collaboration of the Canadian Medical Schools, housed at the University of Calgary. Free with registration.
Suite of apps offering interactive cases, with foci on diagnosis (Prognosis), management (Clinical Sense), and counseling (Explain Medicine).
Recommended for UBC students. Interactive cases based at University of Ottawa. Requires institutional access (e.g., through UBC).
"PedsCases allows students to experience core virtual cases not seen in their clerkship experience. The goal is that PedsCases will deliberately generate content in a variety of formats including virtual patients, to ensure core pediatric knowledge is translated to undergraduate learners in a comprehensive manner."
